The league is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and run democratically by its members. All revenue generated by the league is used to continue the development of our sport, provide programs and resources to support our member leagues, and cover the expenses of running the organization.
Meet The Rebels
The Long Island Roller Rebels are Long Island’s first flat-track roller derby league, celebrating 20 years in 2025. We are a member of the Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA), the sport’s foremost governing body with more than 360 member leagues. We compete for international rankings sanctioned by the WFTDA.
Join Our Team
We will teach you everything you need to know, even if you have never been on skates before. If you’re already comfortable on skates, there are still plenty of derby-specific skills to master. Before you can play an actual game, we require all skaters to pass a skills assessment.
